Your bike is valuable—make sure it stays safe! Check out these practical tips to help prevent bicycle theft and keep your ride secure.

• Spend 10% to 20% of the value of the bike on a good quality U-Lock and Cable Lock.
• Lock tight to an immovable object, and keep lock o the ground. Secure the wheels using a coil/cable lock or chain.
• Better to lock indoors. But if outside secure where well lit, with CCTV or natural surveillance.
• Note the bike frame / serial number and take a clear photograph. It will help reunite you with your stolen bike should it be recovered.
• Always report bike thefts to An Garda Síochána and provide the frame / serial number of the stolen bicycle.
